Michael Gartenberg - Sonos + Rhapsody = Music Nirvana at home

Michael Gartenberg - Sonos + Rhapsody = Music Nirvana at home

Tried this out this weekend; have to agree with Michael, this thing is really cool. My wife took to it right away, a sure test of mainstream excellence.

Now if it only didn't involve $1200 in hardware and cost $15/month subscription fees...

Now, if I could just browse and stream from Rhapsody on a Zune, I might actually be tempted to buy one.

Downloading is so 1990s.

Which is about where Zune belongs to be honest. That 4:3 320x240 screen looks just like the one from the Creative Zen Media Center that Microsoft once sent me when I was Windows Media MVP. What a clunker that was. Especially as I've not owned a 4:3 screen on any media device in almost 10 years now. Why would I? It would be a serious step backwards.

Real shame. I was hoping Microsoft would pull something out of the bag to knock Apple off the top. Sadly, Zune is shaping up to be a huge turkey with very few redeeming features.

In fact, just throw the hard drive out and give me a player that just has Wifi to stream all the content. Thanks :)
