A Zune contributor by day, I'm also an avid hiker, biker, and father of three, I also work doing industry analysis and strategy. In previous lives, I've been a backcountry ski patroller, worked on the Windows Media Player, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Team Manager 97, been a researcher in Cognitive Neuroscience, a grad student, and a kid.

NICE. Now this is the kind of research and development I like. nice to see the begginings of what i think will be a triumph for microsoft.
I like that you were thinking of component-based design right from the start... :)
this will be great for those before and after shots. this picture is awesome though. great blog, exactly the kind of stuff im interested with the zune.
Gosh, it sure looks like an iPod.....
