Now that Zune is out, I'm going to spend some posts on "how tos" with Zune. First up? My method for getting my video collection onto my Zune. In the next few, I'll talk about getting wmv, mpeg-4, and Divx files onto my Zune at home and the tools I'm using to do it.

Is there an official newsgroup or forum for Zune? I have some questions and suggestions for the Zune team...
As I take mine back to the UK on Saturday (heh) I will be watching carefully.
Of course I am now worried about getting any support should I need it. And as for the forcing of accessories in packages, ugh. I wanted a spare sync cable because it feels way too fragile and circuit city didn't list it on their site. A click through from the Zune site did however. Quite bizarre.
Now, I wonder if it supports UK radio station identifiers. And boy does the radio support suck I'm afraid.
I'm curious to see what you are using to convert your video. I have a lot of xvid/avi files and so far have used videora ipod video converter (blech!) to convert to mp4, and then the zune software has to convert them to *who knows what* again, so the process is really lengthy. Is the software converting to wmv? All of my mp3's get converted to, to wma's? I don't know.
yeah, looking forward to that divx tutorial...
oh and some peeps over at zunescene.com found out how to use the zune as a external hd.
syncing mp4s onto the Zune is a really big pain.
I would like to know how you can tag files to different groups on the Zune- like movies, clips, tv shows etc. After having to erase my device with sync issues I have never been able to get back the preloaded content or to group my own movies so they are not all in one big list. I have tried changing genre etc in the Zune software but nothing seems to translate over to the device. The tools for working with video content are VERY average considering the potential of the great screen on the Zune. I agree with the commenter above about the need for a good official forum site where we can get some answers on these things.
Please start ASAP. Any help in a better way of getting my recorded TV from MCE would be great!
