@yournotjohn I had some issues with the 30 gb zune reading all 80 gbs, a direct replacement of 30 gbs is more stable.

  • yournotjohn says:

Wow! Great vid! Did you upgrade the HDD of replaced it with the same type? Is it possible to put an 80g HDD or more into a Zune that is manufactured with a 30g?

@Eddyatusabe ok thats easy. all you gonna need is 1 or two needles and a lighter. you simply burn the sharp tip of the needle until it is really hot then press it through the broken jack thats stuck. then wait few second until it dries the u can pull it off easily.

@Eddyatusabe I would say try putting a dot of super glue on an item and placing it on the top of the broken jack, wait until it hardens well and try pulling it out. You may also try taking apart your zune and then pushing it from the other side of the head phones port

hmmm i have a broken head phone jack stuck in mine idk howto take it out

all i needed was to learn how to undo the hard drive so thanks man

  • Zenodilodon says:

All you need for this is a single small precision phillips screw driver. This can be bought almost anywhere.

  • hanubamba says:

What screw driver are you using??

  • Zenodilodon says:

Look up videos on how to open it up first, it makes the whole process safer and easier.

@Zenodilodon ok i tried the bitton combos but later ill try the battery thing,,,it did this so i ended up getting a 30gb like the one in thid vid…i just wanted this one as a backup

  • Zenodilodon says:

You may have just locked up the firmware. if this happens it’s like a computer that’s frozen unlike a laptop pr desktop you just can’t turn it off. Zune and other common MP3 players never really turn off they more just go into standby. You can wait for the battery to run out ” it would be a while ” of you can try and remove the battery, wait a few seconds and reconnect it. you may also want to look up pad combos I think center+down held for a few second is manual restart.

    @Zenodilodon on wendsday

  • Zenodilodon says:

when did this happen? a few days ago, a week ago ?

  • curtismundy says:

@Zenodilodon it was just on my desk at school and all that was ob the desk was zune, headphones, books, and a pencil

  • Zenodilodon says:

That’s an odd one, I don’t think it’s a hard drive issue, 4 GB unless it’s a micro drive it’s most likely flash memory. It might be altogether dead maybe from a short. There is a common problem with ipods and zunes and having pocket change since the ports are so wide some coins slip in the docks and short them out. You would have to give me more information on what happened in those ten minutes. location time of year items around it, anything it’s kind of like a crime investigation.

  • curtismundy says:

@Zenodilodon ok well my 4 gig just wont turn on and wont respond to the charger or computer…it was working fine and then i turned it off and 10 minutes later tried to turn it back on and it didnt work…do you have any idea what is wrong???

  • Zenodilodon says:

when you boot it up it may go into recovery mode, if you hear a clicking that is repeated over and over in the exact same pattern it may also be dead of dieing, random clicking while seeking information is ok.

  • curtismundy says:

how do you know if your hard drive is bad???

  • tkojoh says:

you unscrew like lightening, my screen started to pixelate!

  • Zenodilodon says:

all hard drives that are mechanical will fail at some point. whether yours is failed or not i am unsure.

  • soeb250 says:

my bad i got the same model zune as you and i bought it for cheap off eBay and im wondering if it was cheap cause of the bad hard-drive so im asking is the hard drive just bad on yours or all the zunes with the same model # as yours??

  • Zenodilodon says:

I don’t understand what your asking

  • soeb250 says:

lol is all of these models?
cause i bought the same version off ebay for like 60 bucks so im kinda suspicious

  • ClownDK says:

    lol upgrade?

  • thewhoissuperb24 says:

Lets see: Zune 30: Black (or dark blue?)..white..brown..red..pink..and I think orange and green as well. Then there were Halo editions..gosh..now for new Zune’s it’s custom artwork on the back..red, black, pink, blue, and green. They should release white and yellow..and maybe silver. That would be sick.
