@imred3345l It sounds like you have music you downloaded via Zune Pass, but aren’t currently a Zune Pass subscriber. The “fix” is to start paying for your Zune Pass again. :-)

@MidgetMan14xxEClipse If you don’t have a backup of your music, I think you’re probably screwed…backups are CRITICAL for digital content. :-(

for anyone who has an older zune do not download the newest firmware! its a death trap! its microsofts way of saying “buy a new zune now!”but if u already have u can fix it without taking it apart but u might end up loosing all ur music…u aft to have an older version of the zune player and update it with that…

  • lizbiz947 says:

I can understand why you’re frustrated, but things do break – even iPods. Nothing lasts forever. :-)

They proceeding to inform me of my options for service ($159 for a refurbished Zune 80GB with a 90 day warranty.) I think this is bogus. The hard drive fails in less than 2 years? Not to mention I haven’t used my Zune in a week and I turn it on this morning to a black screen. I’m considering buying an iPod. No wonder Zune are so cheap.

  • oreokooke24 says:

I was experiencing a black screen for my Zune 80GB. I’ve had this device less than 2 years. I read that you should try to reset your firmware by pressing back and up, followed by back, pad, and play. I did so and I now have step 1 that says connect your player, step 2 says update the firmware. I called Zune help and they walked me through the process. To no avail, they informed me that we have exhausted our troubleshooting processes and that it was a harddrive issue.

  • curtismundy says:

ive been having that problem with my 4 gig but i tried it on my moms laptop and it worked…idk why it didnt work on my desktop

  • ThoughtsMedia says:

Get an AC power brick with a USB port connector on it, then you can charge any USB device.

  • adriandwayneacuna says:

what if we wanna charge our zune but it wont let me connect on my laptop?thats my problem :(

  • JLaw012 says:

did you have issues before this happened? i this happen to me as well, right before the most recent update. But i was having problems before with and error on some songs “item cannot be played” and i was unable to download new songs to the zune. i finally did get it to work but when after i reloaded all of my songs i am still finding “item cannot be played” errors…know anything about this??

  • magana415 says:

yeah i updated the software, restarted my computer and disconnected my Zune and it began to work.

  • sportey7511 says:

Hey my Zune says the same thing. Did you ever get that fixed. If you did please let me know..Thanks.
